We were very excited to be invited to join Dr Lowri Davies at the SMART Specialist Veterinary Referrals clinic, in south Wales, to see how Antinol® is used to support her rehabilitation patients.

Dr Davies is a highly qualified veterinary surgeon and a diplomate of the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.

She is one of the best rehabilitation specialists in the world, with patients coming from all over Europe to seek her expertise.

In 2004 she established the SMART referral centre – the first specialised sports medicine and rehabilitation clinic for small animals in the UK. Whether the patient is there due to injury, for performance-related concerns, or to recover from surgery — Dr Davies and her team utilise a multitude of tools and techniques to return them to an active, happy life as quickly as possible.

Six months ago, Dr Davies was introduced to Antinol® and was keen to understand if it could help her support her patient’s recoveries.

“I first wanted to make sure it was of suitable quality for us to be using it. I read the product data and expected that it could help improve the quality of life for a subset of our patients. Primarily our older patients.”

Antinol® has been used within the SMART clinic for six months now, and it has become an essential part of the jigsaw of techniques and tools that they use to support their patients.

“Clients are very happy with it!”

Dr Davies and her team recommend following the Antinol® 14-day double-capsules protocol, followed by daily feeding at the weight-appropriate guide. They have seen a difference in the majority of cases. Pets are comfortable, happy and active.

“I find I can only recommend something if I truly believe in it. That's my starting point. I ask, does it work, and is it good value for money? And I am quite happy to recommend Antinol®.”

We had a great time seeing some of Dr Davies’s patients and experiencing what is it like to spend time at the SMART clinic. If you want to learn more about The SMART Clinic, you can visit their website here.
